The Communication Generation

I was driving down Highway 41 today listening to the radio when I was struck with a thought... This is a communication obsessed generation. People carry cell phones, PDA's, Blackberries, wireless internet enabled laptops, and some people have all of the above! Most of us could be in a conversation with someone on the other side of the planet in seconds if it was our desire. We have cell phones with free long distance, early night and weekends, call waiting, instant messanger, you get the picture. People use these modes of communication all day long. Literally hours of every day are spent on the phone or internet. Instant Communication. Yet I sat there and pondered the message in the song that was playing on my radio...
The song "What If His People Prayed" was playing. I suddenly was overwhelmed with the whole concept and thought behind this song. We are able to talk to the creator of the universe any time we want to! No lost signals, dropped calls, roaming charges, not even any interference. But everyone knows that. There is an awesomeness in that one ability that is taken for granted every second of every day. But what convicts me and is sparking a fire in me is what God will do if we call on Him. All I need to is ask him. Sooooo... Out of all of this thinking an idea was born. An idea that I know has been sparked in the hearts of so many other people. My desire is to locate the people of prayer, and locate the matters of prayer, and hook em up, if you will. Currently I am using this blog until my website (www.callousedknees.com) is up and running. I would also like to see what I can do to be used by Christ to answer some of those prayer needs. Sometimes we just need to be smacked up side the head with a need in order to see that God is trying to use us to fulfill that need.
